Provo City Center Temple

Today we had the opportunity to go to the Provo City Center Temple open house with my parents and Chad's mom. Before we went through the temple, we watched a short 10 minute film about temples. While watching it, I couldn't help but feel so much gratitude. We are so lucky to have so many temples around us. I know it is the House of the Lord and am grateful for the peace that I feel whenever I go. Because of temples, I can be sealed to my family forever, and there is no greater blessing than that.

If you have the opportunity to go, GO! Also, I heard there are tons of extra tickets at stand-by, so if you don't have tickets, check it out! I can't imagine them turning you away ;)

Homecoming

Today was Sean's homecoming. Chad was so sweet and offered to watch Duke so I could get out of the house and go listen to his talk. When he bore his testimony in Tagalog, the spirit was so strong. Although I couldn't understand a single word he said, it testified to me how true the church is, no matter what language you speak. I'm so grateful for my 3 brothers that chose to serve missions. They are such great examples to me and I look up to them tremendously. I'm so grateful to be a member and can't even imagine my life without the gospel!

Grateful Heart

My cousin, Jace, is going on a mission to Mexico this week and had his farewell today. We went to West Point, UT to listen to his talk. Because of my bed rest, it was my first time going to church in 4 months. We have been blessed to have the Priests in our ward bring us the Sacrament every week, but there is something special about actually being in the congregation. Between the hymns and talks, the spirit was so strong, it almost brought me to tears. I was completely overwhelmed with gratitude. I couldn't help but think about the past 6 months of my life, it amazes me how much the Lord has blessed us. I know without a doubt that this church is true and I am so grateful for this gospel and how much it has impacted my life.

Ogden Temple

Today I had the opportunity to go with my sister-in-law, Nicole, and her sisters to the Ogden Temple open house. This was my first time going to an open house. It was such a neat experience to get a tour of the entire temple.  Today was a great reminder to me how important temples are. We wouldn't be able to be sealed to our families if it weren't for temples. I am so grateful to be a member of the church and especially to be sealed to my best friend for eternity!!

#LDSconf x 2

Today was filled with inspiring general conference talks, a cuddle session with Bruno, makeup tutorials, an intense game of Scrabble, egg mcmuffins, running 2 miles to burn off the egg mcmuffin, getting caught in the rain, and capturing a full sized rainbow.
Life is good.

{they look disgusting, but they were actually pretty good...the egg turned out thicker than we thought it would}

#LDSconf

General Conference is one of my favorite times of the year. Staying in our pajamas all day, listening to uplifting talks, and of course, you can't forget one of the best parts... making {and eating} yummy breakfasts, snacks, treats, etc.

As of late, Chad and I have been overly obsessed with the website allrecipes.com. We have made it a nightly tradition that we choose a recipe off the website and make dinner/dessert together. We came across this amazing blueberry muffin recipe, and we're seriously addicted. There was no question that's what we were going to have for our General Conference breakfast... (it was our 20th muffin in 2 days... to say we're obsessed would be an understatement).

They are amazing! If you're not a blueberry muffin lover like we are, you will be after you try this recipe. It converted me.

{You can find the recipe here}.

Chad is in the process of replacing the axel of his car. I'm grateful for that handy man of mine... such a hunk ;)

While the guys went to the Priesthood session, us ladies partied it up. Naturally, we went shopping at University Mall (just like every other girl in Utah county). Needless to say, it's always a good time with the Weitzeil girls.

We met up with the guys at Malawi's for some pizza and ended the night with a little carousel fun at Provo Beach Resort.

Temple Time

Today I am grateful for temples. Here is why...
  • I am so grateful for the opportunity to escape from the world and go into a peaceful, beautiful, rejuvenating, nonjudgmental world.
  • I love how I simply forget about everything that's going on in life and just focus on how I can personally improve. (I even stopped worrying about Bruno and his poor foot… he had a little procedure done to remove an infected sliver in between his toes. He is stuck wearing the cone of shame).
  • There is nothing better than being in the temple with Chad. My love grows everyday for that man. I absolutely love building our relationship, not only together, but with God. It's truly amazing.
I wish I could say that we were better at going to the temple, but I can promise that we are working on it and it will only get better from here.

Poor Bruno :(

Halloween DIY

Halloween is just around the corner, which means it's time to pull out the decorations. Since most of our stuff is in a storage unit, I decided to make new crafts this year. General conference was this weekend, and I figured it was the perfect time to make them, especially because it would help keep me awake. It only took me and hour and a half to make everything, and I love how it all turned out. Happy Halloween!

Temple Inspiration

The past couple of days, I have had this feeling that Chad and I needed to go to the temple. There are so many temples close to us, we are so lucky to have them just minutes from our house. It had been a while since we had last been, and I felt prompted that we needed to go.

We decided to go with some of our friends to the Timpanogos temple to do sealings. I love doing sealings at that temple because it brings back memories from our sealing (it's almost been one year!). As we were about half way done with our session, the Sealer announced that the next family that was going to be sealed was from Virginia in 1575. As the selaer read the names, he became surprised. The couple was going to seal Pocahontas to her parents. One of the ladies in our group does genealogy and said that that was the actual Pocahontas because she was born in Virginia in 1575 and that was her dad's name (I went home and researched to make make sure she was correct).

This really hit close to home because Pocahontas is my 12th great grandma. What are the chances that she would be sealed on a Wednesday night, in the Timpanogos temple and in our exact sealing room? I would say chances are pretty slim. I am so grateful that we were able to be apart of her sealing. I know that it wasn't just a chance that this happened. I am so grateful for the gospel and I know that it's true!

Road Trip

My sister, Amy, had her first baby, Ryder, on May 4, 2013. Chad and I decided to take a little road trip to Colorado for his baby blessing. We packed our car with treats and turned on our "Road Trip Playlist". I love road trips. I think it's such a great time for deep conversations with hardly any distractions, especially when you're driving through the desert.

Chad is a super fast driver, which I am very grateful for, because I am a fast driver as well. One of my pet peeves is slow drivers. Instead of taking 4 hours to get to Colorado, we got there in a whopping 3 hours! We shaved off a whole hour!

My brother Mike, his wife Somre, and their family came down as well. Since there was a huge baseball tournament in Grand Junction that same weekend, a lot of the hotels were booked. Our last resort was to stay at a cheap, old hotel. Our room was really ghetto, but you get what you pay for. I was grateful we at least had a bed.

We spent the night relaxing by the pool and eating pizza. We went to Amy and Bryce's house later that night and hung out with them. They live in a cute basement apartment just down the street from our hotel.

Bryce did a great job on Ryder's baby blessing. It was fun going to their little ward. After the meeting, we went to Bryce's parents house for lunch. We had pulled pork sandwiches and yummy salads. It was so good to see Amy and Bryce. Since they live in Colorado, we don't see them that often. Ryder is so cute! He has a ton of dark hair. He is such a handsome little boy :) It was a great weekend with the fam!
