Haunted Moonlight Lift

One of my favorite traditions that Chad and I have been doing every year since we met is going on the Haunted Moonlight Lift up at Sundance. I was so bummed when we couldn't go last year because of bed rest, so I was determined that we weren't going to miss it this year. Chad's mom was so sweet to come over and babysit Duke while we went up the canyon. We froze our bums off, which was a harsh wake-up call that winter is just around the corner. We sipped our hot chocolate and enjoyed our date night alone... it was weird not having Duke with us considering it was our 3rd date alone with each other since he was born! It was such a fun date night with my lover!

{yay for blurry iphone pictures}

Jaker's Jack-O-Lanterns

Last weekend we went to Jaker's Jack-O-Lanterns pumpkin patch in Springville. We have never picked pumpkins off the vine, so we decided this was the year we were going to start this tradition. We found the most perfect large, tall pumpkins + they were only $6.50 each (they would've cost probably around $20 at a grocery store because of their size!) This was seriously the cutest little pumpkin patch I've been to so far, and I've been to a lot!

Duke was loving sitting in the cart by himself and holding on like a big boy!

They had a little petting zoo, which had a kangaroo (what?!) We had never seen one before so it was fun to pet it (Chad only petted it, I'm a germa phobe when it comes to stuff like that) and watch it kick the ram that was in the cage with it.

Of course, we had to get ourselves some pumpkin spice Art City donuts afterwards, which were to die for! We downed them in less than 2 minutes.

We carved our pumpkins on Monday night once we put Duke down for the night. Call me crazy, but I LOVE pulling out all the gunk from the pumpkin. I probably like it more than carving ;)

Chad carved the thing from Ghostbusters (I don't even know what it's called) and I carved Snow White. This is one of my favorite traditions!!

Cookie Party

I have been eyeing @thealisonshow's sugar cookie recipe for a couple months now. As soon as I saw she was doing 20% of the course, I splurged and bought it. It has been one of my favorite purchases in a long time. Royal icing is so tricky to work with, but her secret techniques are brilliant and seriously make it SO easy (& fun!) If you follow me on snapchat (@melanieweitzeil) you obviously know that I am obsessed and made a couple batches within 24 hours of purchasing her ebook. I am so excited for the holidays coming up because these will make the perfect gift for friends/neighbors (I've already been handing them out like a mad woman ;) Go here to purchase the course. Seriously, you won't regret it!

Happy Halloween

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. Who doesn't love a day that revolves around dressing up and getting free candy?! Lucky for me, I was feeling the Halloween vibes early and put up all of my decorations in the middle of September before I was placed on bed rest.

Pretty sure Chad found the biggest pumpkins in Orem. Together they weigh 140 pounds!

We ordered a pumpkin shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's for dinner {it tasted a lot better than it looks} and watched Beetlejuice and Casper while we carved our enormous pumpkins.

In case you're wondering how to carve a 70 pound pumpkin while on bed rest...

We got a surprise visit from the cutest Cinderella and Mike Wazowski there ever was...

Our busy night left us with two worn out dogs.

I'm so excited for next Halloween when we get to spend it with baby DeVore! Happy Halloween!

Cornbelly's

Corn mazes are always a must around Halloween. The atmosphere always gets me into the Halloween mood. I love the hayrides, hot chocolate, pumpkin patches and getting lost in the maze. Chad and I had never been to Cornbelly's, so we decided to give it a shot. Although we were lost in the maze for almost an hour (it was only supposed to take 1/2 hour), it was so much fun just to be together :)

Halloween Moonlight Lift

Each Halloween, Chad and I have made a tradition of going to the Halloween Moonlight Lift at Sundance. Hot chocolate, cuddling and halloween decorations.... it doesn't get much better than that!

Gardner Village

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. I love all the decorations, corn mazes and the fall weather. Every year, my mom, sisters, and I go to Gardner Village. Gardner Village is a bunch of little houses that have been turned into shops and boutiques. It's always a great time!

After 3 hours of shopping, we went to Culver's for lunch. If you haven't been there, you need to go! They have the best burgers and shakes (a new location just opened in Lehi). We sat in the restaurant and talked for almost 2 hours. It was such a great day with the girls!
