Road Trip

My sister, Amy, had her first baby, Ryder, on May 4, 2013. Chad and I decided to take a little road trip to Colorado for his baby blessing. We packed our car with treats and turned on our "Road Trip Playlist". I love road trips. I think it's such a great time for deep conversations with hardly any distractions, especially when you're driving through the desert.

Chad is a super fast driver, which I am very grateful for, because I am a fast driver as well. One of my pet peeves is slow drivers. Instead of taking 4 hours to get to Colorado, we got there in a whopping 3 hours! We shaved off a whole hour!

My brother Mike, his wife Somre, and their family came down as well. Since there was a huge baseball tournament in Grand Junction that same weekend, a lot of the hotels were booked. Our last resort was to stay at a cheap, old hotel. Our room was really ghetto, but you get what you pay for. I was grateful we at least had a bed.

We spent the night relaxing by the pool and eating pizza. We went to Amy and Bryce's house later that night and hung out with them. They live in a cute basement apartment just down the street from our hotel.

Bryce did a great job on Ryder's baby blessing. It was fun going to their little ward. After the meeting, we went to Bryce's parents house for lunch. We had pulled pork sandwiches and yummy salads. It was so good to see Amy and Bryce. Since they live in Colorado, we don't see them that often. Ryder is so cute! He has a ton of dark hair. He is such a handsome little boy :) It was a great weekend with the fam!
