Temple Square
My sister Stephanie, and her family came down yesterday from Idaho. My parents, Amy & Bryce, and Chad & I met them in Salt Lake City for dinner. We ate at Crown Burger and then went to City Creek. After a little shopping, we headed across the street to Temple Square.

Shopping Spree
Chad got me a shopping spree for Christmas, so on Friday, I went to City Creek all by myself. No pressure and no time frame... It was great! I would definitely recommend it, it was self rejuvinating! I decided to use part of my spree on a Michael Kors watch. I have been obsessing over this watch for a couple months now. I love it because it's classy and simple, and it complements my ring quite nicely! Thanks Chad!!!
Weitzeil Christmas Party
Every year on Dec. 26th, all the Weitzeil's gather at Grandpa Weitzeil's house in Mountain Green for our annual Christmas Party. We stuff our faces with delicious foods and desserts and then all 30 of us pile in his living room to open presents. I look forward to this party every year. It is so fun to be together and create lasting memories.
Merry Christmas!!
Christmas morning I was awake at the crack of dawn. I'm like a little child, so giddy to open presents. I promised Chad I wouldn't wake him up until 8 am (since last year I insisted that he wake up at 6 am). I showered and cleaned the house until I couldn't wait any longer... I jumped on the bed and tickled him until he groaned and moaned and agreed to get up. I'm such a good wife :)
Chad spoiled me to pieces. I really don't deserve it, he treats me too well. He got me 5 pair of shoes (2 Steve Maddens, Vintage Company Boots, Frye loafers and Chinese Laundry booties). I love every singles pair! He also got me a shopping spree to Nordstrom and Anthropologie, headphones and hair product. He did such a good job at keeping all of the presents a surprise, I had no idea what I was getting (I like it that way).
I got Chad an IPad Air, clothes, Frye shoes, Sperrys, remote control car and a remote control helicopter. He loved the remote control toys more than the iPad air. He is a child at heart :)
We went to my parents for breakfast. My parents got us "date night" gift cards. We are so excited to use all the gift cards to our favorite restaurants. We went to Chad's parents for lunch. His parents gave us cookie sheets and money. They were both so generous to us!
Later that night, we had the opportunity to Skype my brother, Sean, who is serving an LDS mission in the Phillippines. He is doing so well. It's crazy he has already been out for 10 months. I miss that little turd, but I wouldn't want him anywhere else other than serving The Lord.
It has been such an amazing Christmas and I have had so much gratitude for the blessings that Chad and I have received. I couldn't ask for anything more. Life is good.

Christmas Eve
I love Christmas Eve, I love the anticipation and excitement for Christmas. Every year, my family goes to breakfast on Christmas Eve morning. Sadly, Chad had to work a half day and so he wasn't able to come :( My parents, Amy, Christine and their families met at Village Inn at 9 am. Normally we go to Magleby's, but since they recently closed, we decided to try somewhere new. It was surprisingly good!
From there, we went to my house and did a white elephant exchange. Luckily, Chad was able to leave work a little early. I won a hand blender and Chad won a box of See's Chocolates. It was so fun to have everyone over and show them our new house.
Chad and I did a little last minute shopping and went to lunch at Marleys. I love being married to my best friend. We have so much fun together. I love every minute we spend together.
Stephen and Sarah DeVore invited us over to their house that night for dinner. We had Chinese take out and made sugar cookies for Santa. Chad and I helped the little kiddos build a fort to sleep in. They are so cute, it makes me excited to have our own!
We hurried home because we were anxious to open our Christmas jammies. I got Chad Nike sweats and an Under Armour shirt. He got me Victoria's Secret cheetah pajamas, they are adorable! We got Bruno a cute onesie, it fits him perfectly! We went up to my parents and took our classic picture in front if their tree (we didn't set up a tree this year since we are still moving in). We ended the night by watching Elf with my fam. It was such a great day with everyone. Merry Chrisrmas to all and to all a good night!
Sushi and Temple Lights
On Monday night, we went with our friends, Tyler and Melissa Duffy, up to SLC. We stopped and got some Sushi then headed to Temple Square to see the lights. It was really busy so we didn't stay too long. The lights were amazing, just like always. Afterwards, we walked to City Creek and did a little shopping. It was a great night with great friends!

Fingernail Sliver
On Sunday, I was opening a drawer without a handle and my finger slipped and hit the corner of the drawer. A piece of wood came off and slid under my fingernail. My finger was immediately in pain, but I thought it just bent my nail back. After realizing it was a piece of wood that was causing the pain, it immediately made me worried since it was already bruising and bleeding! I ran into the bedroom and woke up Chad. He jumped out of bed and insisted that we go to the urgent care, since we obviously wouldn't be able to get it out.
I get really nauseous with blood, so it took us about 45 minutes to finally get to the urgent care. In order to get it out, the Dr had to numb my finger. She said it is one of the most painful shots she's ever had, that comment didn't make me nervous at all. The shot was right into my bone. Not only was it a huge needle, but after the needle was in, she wiggled it around for a few seconds and did another shot, which killed! She did that twice. I balled like a baby. Definitely the most painful shot (it was way worse than the shot I had in the tush!) My finger instantly swelled up with fluid, it was super puffy.
About 15 minutes later, my finger was completely numb. The Dr. carefully pulled it out. I was so happy it was that easy :)
Skidmore Christmas Party
My moms side of the family (the Skidmore's) have an annual Christmas party. I always look forward to the party because my grandma makes her amazing clam chowder. This year, it was held at my parents church. We had a white elephant exchange and I won a roll of toilet paper and Chad won pistachios, sweet! ;) It was so fun to be with the family!

9 months
9 months. We have lived in Chad's parent's basement for 9 months. That's a long time. I could've produced a baby in that time frame. I'm glad to say we have officially moved on from their basement. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful for the DeVore's for letting us spontaneously move in on such a short notice (long story short, we got kicked out of the house we were renting when we got Bruno).

Chalkboard Banner DIY
What you'll need:
Step 4: Paint the back side of the wood with black craft paint.
Wood (any shape you'd like)
Chalkboard paint
Sandpaper
Drill
Paintbrush
Black craft paint
Burlap string
Chalk
This banner is seriously so easy, just 5 simple steps!
Step 1: Drill a hole in the top corners
Step 2: Sand the wood
Step 3: Paint one side of the wood with chalkboard paint. Let it dry for 4 hours. Apply second coat of paint and let it dry for 4 hours.
Step 4: Paint the back side of the wood with black craft paint.
Step 5: Let the paint completely dry for 72 hours before writing on it.
One thing I love about this banner is that it can be used for every holiday. Just add some ribbons and accessories, and you're done. It's that easy!
