Bruno's Dog House

Winter is coming and it's getting colder quicker than I like. Since Bruno is outside for most of the day, we decided he needed to get a dog house to keep him warm. Instead of buying one, we decided to make our very own.

Chad found awesome blueprints online. After many trips to Home Depot, Lowe's and stocking up on some essential tools, we had all that we needed. Neither of us had built anything like this before, so it took us a lot longer probably than most people, but we had so much fun doing it.

We decided to build it like a house, so there is insulation in the walls and the roof. With all the wood, shingles and insulation, the house is over 200 pounds! So for right now, it will stay in the driveway until we find a way to move it. We absolutely love how it turned out. Hopefully Bruno will like it :)

Jazz vs. Warriors

Chad grew up in California, so he grew up watching the Warriors basketball team. To this day, he still loves them. He knows every player, their statistics and the pros and cons of each player. Once he found out they were playing the Jazz, he decided to score some awesome tickets.

We love going to Jazz games and we love sitting close, but we hate paying the retail price. Chad always knows how to get them for cheap. The cheapest tickets we could find were $150 each on row 4, center court. We never pay this much, but since it's Chad's favorite team, we couldn't pass them up.

Tonight was the big game. We anxiously waited in the "will call" line at the Energy Solutions Arena as the clerk searched for our tickets. Minutes later, we found out that we never purchased tickets... Our transaction was never completed online.... Bummer!

We both whispered some words of anger under our breath as we exited the building. As we were walking back to our car, we found some scalpers on the street that sold us tickets for $35 each on row 17. Our attitudes quickly changed as we realized it was probably a blessing the transaction didn't go through. We saved over $200! Who needs seats on row 4 anyways?!

Jazz didn't play that great... At least we had ice cream. Ice cream makes everything better. 'Twas a great night with the Mr.

Office Baby Shower

I have been the receptionist for Dr. Myers for almost 2 1/2 years. It's crazy how fast time flies. I absolutely love my job. I especially love the girls I work with, it makes working more fun :)

One of my co-workers, Kailyn, is pregnant and is due in January. Kellie and I decided to throw her a baby shower. I did the invites and decorations, and Kellie made the food and hosted it at her home. It was so fun to be together outside of work and see each other in normal clothes (we are always in scrubs). I am so excited for Kailyn, she is going to be the cutest mom!

Kellie made a diaper cake. It had 150 diapers, such a cute idea!

These pom-poms are super easy to make. Take as many tissue papers as you would like, (the more there are, the bigger it will be), and fold them into a fan, like back in elementary school. Once it is all folded, tie a string around the middle of the tissue paper. Un-fold each tissue paper one at a time, until all the tissue paper is apart. And that's all there is to it, it's so easy!

Making invitations is so easy with my cameo! It is seriously one of the best presents I have ever gotten from Chad. It can cut paper, fabric and vinyl and can cut out any design you can think of. It's like a Cricket, but better because you can download fonts off the internet (my favorite is Pinterest) and you don't have to buy cartridges like a Cricket! It is such a versatile machine and can be used for so many different projects. ( I used it to cut out my banner and letters on the gift bags below).

BYU vs. WEBER

I can't believe it's already basketball season. Where has this year gone? We renewed our season BYU basketball tickets and I couldn't be more excited.

First of all, we have the best seats in the house. Chad scored some handicap tickets, so we get to sit in padded folding chairs (!!) at the top of the lower bowl. The nice thing about our seats is that no one sits next to us, behind us or in front of us. Plus, we can stretch our legs out as far as we want because the only thing in front of us is a railing. We may not be in the front row, but we don't have to deal with annoying fans and achy legs.

Look at this amazing sunset, it was absolutely breathtaking! Plus, it was taken with no filter. Utah sunsets are the best :)

Autumn Love

The weather has been absolutely beautiful. I love the sunshine in the afternoon and the chill at night. Since we live in a basement, it can get very cold in the evenings. One of our favorite things to do is watch TV and cuddle by the fire. Chad lights the fireplace and I turn on Netflix, we make such a good team. Bruno is afraid of fire. He will sit on the couch and stare at the flames and jump each time the wood crackles. It's actually kind of cute. I love our little family.

The other day, I had the afternoon off of work and decided to stop at my parents house. My brother Mike, and his family are currently living there until they move to Virginia in December. As I pulled in front of the house, all of my nieces were raking and jumping in the leaves. The kid came out in me and I couldn't help but join in. I'm dreading the day they move.. until then, I will continue playing silly games with them.

Pregnancy Prank

On Sunday, Chad's siblings came over for his moms birthday. Our brother-in-law, Shane, gave us the ultrasound of the female dog (Hood Star) that is pregnant with Bruno's puppies... he is going to be a dad! Even better news... we get to keep the number one female out of the litter. We couldn't be more excited!

Once I saw the ultrasound, I got a brilliant idea... I was going to trick the social media world that I was pregnant with twins. Chad's siblings got in on the trick and came up with the perfect post. Seconds after posting the picture, my friends were already "liking" and commenting on the picture. I definitely fooled everyone!
"It's official, there's at least 2!! Bruno's not going to be the only baby in our house anymore!"
A couple hours later, I felt bad for tricking everyone, especially because I kept getting texts and calls from friends and family. I had to break the news... those are Bruno's babies, not mine.

"Turns out we had a little confusion... It's an ultrasound of Bruno's future puppies! "
Getting a puppy was seriously one of the best decisions we ever made. It may sound silly, but Bruno brings so much joy into our family, he is like our child (and he acts like it too). He is the most spoiled dog I have ever met, he loves to cuddle and be held. He always makes his way in between Chad and I when we watch a movie. We are soo excited to add a another puppy to our little family! November 23 can't come quick enough!!

Grimm Ghost Tour

For Halloween, we decided to switch things up and go on a haunted ghost tour in Salt Lake City with some of our friends. We met at a BBQ restaurant in Draper (I wish I could remember the name), it was amazing! After our stomachs were stuffed to the brim, we made our way to SLC.

We got on the tour bus at 9 pm and drove to different haunted places around the city. The tour guide would explain the stories and then we would get off the bus and explore.

Claire White, Melissa Duffy and I

One of my favorite places to see was the Ted Bundy house. Surprisingly, I have never heard of him until this tour. He murdered tons of women back in the 70's (if you've never heard of him, you should look him up. He was a disgusting man).

Anyways... we walked through a little forest until we came upon the house where he did the murders. Most of the house was destroyed, but there is a section that is still standing. There was an eery feeling being at the house were he killed many women.

The tour was an hour and a half and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love stuff like that, it gets my heart racing. I would definitely recommend doing a tour, it was a blast! We want to do a paranormal tour next, where you actually go with investigators into buildings with all their gear. I'm such a nerd :)

The tour guide kept telling us to take pictures to see if we could see any "orbs". I only had my iPhone, so the quality isn't that great.

Since Bruno is like our child, we had to dress him up for Halloween. We found a cheap football costume at TJ Maxx that fit him perfectly. Surprisingly, he actually liked having it on. We love our little all-star! Happy Halloween!
