Life Lately

Life has been so crazy lately. I feel like we are in a movie that's playing in fast forward. Moments are passing by so quickly, we can barely keep up with everything. With us both working and going to school, I feel like there are days where we barley even see each other. All I can say is I am literally counting the days when we are both done with our finals and can at least eat dinner together.  Here's our week at a glimpse...

Monday: The Duffys had 2 extra tickets to the Jazz game. It was the last game of the season against the Lakers, plus the seats were on row 17.... how could you pass up an offer like that?! Although the Jazz lost, we still had a blast! I caught a little basketball and we saw Phil from Modern Family. They showed him on the big screen, so we were determined to find him in the arena. After 10 minutes of playing "Where's Phil", Melissa spotted him. Our life was complete. After the game, we ate at one of our favorite pizza restaurants, The Pie. Of course, it was delicious.

                                   Do you see him?

Tuesday: Since I'm now in young women's, I get to attend the weekly activity each week. This week we went to the Timpanogos Temple and did baptisms for the dead. Afterwards we had pizza (third time this week!) at a park. It's so fun getting to know the girls. We have such an amazing ward.

Wednesday: We got a bulldog!!! Her name is Lucy and she is from Columbia. She is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. Bruno loves her, which is a good thing, because they are eventually going to have puppies together :) She is the same size as Bruno (about 11 inches tall) and they are already best buds. It's really cute!

Thursday: Chad got my bike up and running, so naturally, we had to test it out. We went on a little bike ride around the neighborhood. To say I love it would be an understatement. I am obsessed with it! It is an awesome bike that will last a long time.

Thursday: Chads work has an intermural softball team that he plays on each week. They played two games, back-to-back. It was a chilly night on the field, but it was fun cheering their team on!

It's been a great week, but I can't explain how excited I am for the weekend. Let the Easter festivities begin!

Haunted

As of late, Chad and I have been obsessed with the TV series, "American Horror Story" on Netflix. I have always been intrigued with ghost stories. It all started when I was a child and had my first "ghost" experience in my bedroom, but that's another story for another time...

We have spent the last 2 days in bed, episode after episode, cuddling under the covers with our heads peeking out. There's something that draws us to this show, but I am now convinced that our house is haunted. I'll have to admit, it's kind of creepy living in this big house with just the 2 of us. It's funny how you start to notice the weird noises a house makes when you're actually listening for them.

As we lay in our bed and watch our haunted show, Bruno has made it a habit to cuddle up to me. I feel like it's his way of "protecting" me. He may look cute, but don't let it deceive you. He snores louder than Chad, slowly pushes me off the bed, and gets all up in my face… he is one of a kind. I love that little guy.

Chad got a raise (!!!) We celebrated by going to one of our favorite places… good old Taco Amigo. We ate our shakes and talked about life. I feel like we are in such a good place with life, I definitely can't complain! Life is good.

Sunday Lovin'

Happy Sunday! Today I am so grateful for my little family. I wouldn't trade my love for Chad for anything else in the world. I feel so blessed to be married to such a kind, loving husband. He truly is the best thing that's happened to me. He always has such a positive attitude and outlook on life, he brings so much happiness into my life.

Bruno. We love Bruno.  His spunky personality brightens up our lives tremendously. He always knows how to bring a smile to your face; whether it's by his sweet kisses in the morning, or the cuddling at night. He's definitely a keeper :)

Baby Brunos

Yesterday, Bruno became a dad! The dog he artificially insemenated, Star, gave birth to 7 adorable puppies. Right after work, Chad and I drove up to Riverton to see them. I have never seen puppies so tiny. It was like holding a baby chick... I was obsessed. We aren't sure which one we are going to keep, we won't know until they get a little older, but we are so excited to have a little Bruno junior running around!

Bruno's Dog House

Winter is coming and it's getting colder quicker than I like. Since Bruno is outside for most of the day, we decided he needed to get a dog house to keep him warm. Instead of buying one, we decided to make our very own.

Chad found awesome blueprints online. After many trips to Home Depot, Lowe's and stocking up on some essential tools, we had all that we needed. Neither of us had built anything like this before, so it took us a lot longer probably than most people, but we had so much fun doing it.

We decided to build it like a house, so there is insulation in the walls and the roof. With all the wood, shingles and insulation, the house is over 200 pounds! So for right now, it will stay in the driveway until we find a way to move it. We absolutely love how it turned out. Hopefully Bruno will like it :)
