The Last Supper

Sean, my youngest brother, was supposed to enter into the MTC on January 3, 2013, but since there was an outpouring of missionaries entering at the beginning of the year, his date was moved back a month. I was happy because it was an extra month we got to spend with him.

February 13th came waaay too fast. Me & Chad, Christine and her kids (Emily & Joshua), Mike & Somre and their kids (AnaLidia, Isabella and Sofia), my parents and Sean met at Olive Garden for Sean's last supper. It was a great to be with everyone!

The MTC has changed how you drop off a missionary, they only allow one car to drive into the MTC and you say goodbye at the curb. So, we all said our farewells in the Olive Garden parking lot, classy... I know.

AnaLidia, who is 5 years old, was really emotional. It was cute to see her hug Sean so tight. That's when it really hit me. I'm not going to see this kid for 2 years!

Growing up, I always picked on Sean. I would tease him until he cried and we never got along. If he was breathing too loud at dinner, I would get mad. This is just one of the examples of our stupid fights. Once we both went to high school together and I drove him to school everyday, we started getting along and we actually talked to eachother. I am so grateful for the relationship that we now have, we have become great friends.

I didn't think saying goodbye would be so hard. He is going to serve the Lord, this is what he should be doing. I hugged him tight and said goodbye. I cried all the way home. I can be such a cry baby sometimes. He will be such an amazing missionary, but I will definitely miss him. Good luck in the Philippines!
