4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July is one of the my favorite holidays. Every year, all the Weitzeil's come down to my parents house and spend a couple days there. It is an activity you definitely don't want to miss out on! This year, my siblings came down a fews days early, and we partied it up. On the 3rd, we spent the afternoon swimming in the DeVore's pool.

Later that night, we spent the evening playing on my parents sport court, which included an intense game of volleyball. Us Weitzeil's thrive for competition... happy to say, my team won!

We ended the night by watching an all-time classic, The Princess Birde, under the stars, with fireworks. Can life get any better?!

I have gone to the annual 4th of July parade in Provo every single year I've been alive. Sounds insane, but it's true. It's a HUGE tradition for the Weitzeil's, and I'm not complaining. I love the parade, it wouldn't feel like the 4th of July without it, or otter pops :)

We decided to spread the baby news to my entire family....

We spent the afternoon with the DeVore's - they always have the best BBQ's and pool parties. How did I get so lucky with the best in-laws?! We ended the night at my family's house for our own Stadium of Fire. Seriously though, we had some pretty legit fireworks.

We wanted to post our baby announcement in a creative way to the social media world. I decided it would be fun to try and spell out "Baby" with sparklers, since we were going to announce around the 4th. It was definitely harder than it looks (we had to spell it backwards and have perfect timing with my camera), but with my awesome brother-in-law, Ryan, we finally got the perfect one.

"We are celebrating more than just the 4th of July..."

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

4th of July

The 4th of July is one of my absolute favorite holidays. I love doing fireworks, eating amazing food, watching the Freedom Festival parade and spending so much time with the family.

This year there were about 30 Weitzeil family members that came down for the holiday, and they all stay at my parents house = one full house! This is the 20th year my parents have been hosting this tradition. We always wake up bright and early so we can save our spot on Center Street in Provo for the parade. Since all of us were going off of 4 hours of sleep, we stocked up on candy to keep us awake.

After the parade, we ate lunch at my parents house. The guys went golfing and the girls went shopping, it's tradition... us Weitzeil's like to stick to our traditions. It was such a great afternoon with everyone.  It was a successful 4th of July!

Let the Festivities Begin

The 4th of July is a big deal in the Weitzeil family. The party always starts on the 3rd. Everyone on the Weitzeil side of my family comes to my parents house for the big celebration.

This year, my parents decided to hold the party in Glen Canyon park up Provo Canyon. We met at the pavilion at 6:30 pm. The night was filled with food, games, a beautiful scenery and lots of pictures (I have been so excited to use my new camera!). Once the sun started to set, we cleaned up and headed back to my parents house.

This was definitely the best year yet for fireworks, my dad loaded up on them. Fireworks are one of my favorite parts of the 4th of July.

At 12 am sharp, all the cousins piled into cars and made our annual "In 'N Out" run. It's always more enjoyable to go late, it's great for people watching (mine and Chad's favorite :). This is one of the few times of the year that I enjoy staying up really late, it's all part of the experience!
