I'm always getting asked by people if Duke is really this happy all the time... and my answer is the same every time. He seriously is THE happiest baby I have ever met. I don't think I've ever had a day where he is fussy all day. He is the sweetest, smiliest, cutest little mama's boy there is. He can make anyone, even strangers, smile. We get countless compliments in stores about how happy/smiley he is. He is the best thing that's ever come into our lives. If all my babies were like Duke, I would have 10.... that's saying a lot because of my tough pregnancies (cerclages, bed rest, and all). In case you were wondering, 4 months of strict bed rest was definitely worth it for this little angel!
Clothing: 9-12 months
Bedtime: 7 pm. Wakes up between 6:30-7 am.
Sleeping: Best sleeper ever! Sleeps a solid 12 hours at night and takes two 1-1.5 hour naps a day.
Development:
-has 4 teeth (bottom 2 and top 2)
- ^he's learned how to grind his teeth together and he does it ALL the time (it's like nails to a chalkboard!)
-walks along anything he can, and pushes everything out of the way (chairs)
-says 'mama', 'dada', 'baba'
-can climb up the stairs
-he's learned how to open drawers/cabinets and pull things out
-first time seeing snow on 11/11/15
-first time swinging in a swing on 11/2/15
-I feel like his hair grew SO much this month. It's so long, I can fit it in a ponytail (see pic below). I've been going back and forth about cutting it, but I decided to hold off for now because I know as soon as it's cut, it's going to make him look so much older, and I just want him to be my little baby forever!
Likes:
-to growl
-biting mama's nipples (tmi?) but OUCH! I don't know how much longer I can nurse this parana ;)
-flirting with everyone everywhere we go
-to play shy in front of new people (he puts his head on his shoulder and smiles)
-playing with Bruno
-feeding himself
-playing with Bruno's dog bowls
-crawling over everything (Bruno, toys, people) even if it results in face-planting it... he LOVES it
-climbing up on mom & dad's bed frame
-drinking out of a straw
-LOVES fruit (bananas & pears)
-playing the piano (he will crawl into the piano room, pull himself onto the piano, and pound on the keyboards)
-playing at the Natural Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point. I got a membership about a month ago and we go up there a couple times a week. He LOVES it.
-people watching. ^ he will just stare are other people instead of playing with toys, etc.. It's so funny!
Dislike:
-getting in his car seat
-diaper change
-getting dressed
(naps in the foyer during church)
