Duke's 1st Christmas + VLOG

This Christmas is definitely one for the books. Not only was it Duke's 1st, he also had a stomach bug, which made things a little more interesting. He came down with it on Monday and we spent all Tuesday trying to keep anything in his system. He literally would throw up after eating or drinking anything. It's so heart breaking to watch a little baby throw up and dry heave. By midnight, he had thrown up around 12 times and was absolutely miserable. He wouldn't go to sleep and was still throwing up. We called the on-call nurse and she said we needed to go to the ER (because he hadn't had a wet diaper in 10+ hours) and was most likely very dehydrated. So off to the Orem Community hospital we went, at 2 am. Duke was such a trooper for the Dr., and the Dr concluded he caught some sort of stomach bug or the flu. They monitored him for about an hour, gave us some nausea pills, and off we went.

Duke did pretty good on Wednesday, considering he was going off of 2 hours of sleep (that's right, he woke up at 6:15). He managed to keep everything in, so we thought he were good. Christmas Eve night, he got the runs out of both ends, and it sure wasn't little or pretty. Poor baby was miserable. Being the angel baby that he is, he still slept through the night, but the throw up/diarrhea didn't end there. He threw up first thing Christmas morning along with a blow out all over his Christmas jammies. Since our pediatrician's office was closed, we called the ER nurse that helped us the other night. They prescribed another dose of nausea pills. Since taking the pill, he has done great. Now we are crossing our fingers it can be gone and we can have our happy boy back.

All sickness aside, we had a perfect Christmas Day together with our little family. We woke up with about a foot of snow which was such a fun surprise. When I opened the camera lens and movie stick (it makes it easier to record movies from my camera) that Chad gave me, I suddenly became determined to start doing VLOG's (video blog). So here you go, Christmas Day at its finest. Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!
