1st Dog Show

We had the opportunity to enter Bruno into a dog show. When we got Bruno, Chad and I decided we wanted to get him into dog shows so he can become a champion. We decided we would go to this dog show to learn how and what we need to train him.

The show was up at the Legacy Events Center in Farmington, UT in a big field outside. Two of my brother -in-laws, Shane and Garrett, and their kids, came up as well. It was suposed to start at 11 am, but didn't end up starting until almost 1:30 pm.

Our nephew, Kale, showed Bruno in the junior handling class. He did a great job handling him for his first time. He took 3rd place!

There was a big gap in between contests, so we found some shade on the grass to relax. It was so hot outside that we had to keep dumping water on Bruno so he wouldn't get heat stroke. One of the dog at the competition almost died from it. He was panting so hard and couldn't cool down. The owners rushed him to a faucet and laid him in water. He poured ice on him to try and cool him down. A lot of people were surrounding them to see what was happening. It was sad to see the dog like that. Luckily, he was able to cool down and he ended up being alright.

Chad handled him in 6-9 month old competition. He did such a good job. We had never trained Bruno to stack (how the dogs have to stand in front of the judges), but he did just as well as the other dogs. I wasn't expecting Bruno to place, since it was our first show and we didn't really know what we were doing, but he took 2nd! We were so proud! We are excited to enter him into more dog shows in the future!
