Spider Spaghetti

My favorite food is spaghetti. My worst fear is spiders. They should never be combined together.

Last Sunday, Chad and I went to my parents house for dinner. We are so lucky to live close to both of our parents and that we are able to visit them so often (and get free food ;). It was my niece, Bella's, 4th birthday in January and so Mike, Somre and their kids were going to come down and have her birthday dinner. She requested spaghetti.

A snow storm blew in so Mike and his family didn't end up coming down. Sadly, we ate Bella's birthday dinner without her. I piled my spaghetti high and topped it with cheddar cheese (the secret to amazing spaghetti). As I was taking my first bite, Sean yelped and pushed himself away from the table. Everyone went quiet and looked to see what could be wrong. A brown, medium sized spider crawled out from his pile of spaghetti!! Scared like a little girl, he nudged the spider and it fell on the floor and was instantly squished by his shoe. I couldn't believe my eyes. I instantly lost interest in my spaghetti. I had no desire to finish my dinner. But since it was spaghetti, I felt like I HAD to finish it. How could I throw away this amazingness? I looked through through the food and scanned for spiders. There were none in sight, so I quickly ate what was left before I realized what I was doing.

From this experience, I literally lost my appetite in food for the next couple of days, but looking back it was really funny. Sean was terrified of the spider (I would be too..) and it was funny to see him react like that. I'm sure he will come home a different man when he returns from the Philippines in 2 years. He has 7 days left!
