Here's our little cabin getaway at a glance...
Thursday: Left to the cabin around 7 pm with my parents. We got up there around 8:30 pm. It was Duke's first time up there, and it was hilarious because he couldn't stop looking at EVERYTHING. It's like I loaded him up on sugar, because he was hyper all night. He normally goes to bed around 8:30, and it was 11pm and he was still laughing and rolling around. I have never seen him so wired. I laid him on my bed, and he was just rolling around, and he literally stopped for 10 seconds and was out cold. It was hilarious. I may or may not have let him sleep in my bed that night. I was missing Chad and just wanted someone to cuddle, plus I didn't want the chance of waking him up if I tried moving him.
Friday:We went to lunch in Park City and then met my sister, Christine, at the outlets and shopped our hearts out. A day shopping is always a good day. Chad came up after work, around 8 pm. I have never been so anxious to see a car driving up the dirt road. I missed that boy like crazy, even if we only spent one night apart from each other, it's never easy.
Saturday: I made pancakes, eggs, and bacon for breakfast and it was delicious. Chad and I went on a 1.5 mile hike. I was nervous when we talked to some people and they said they've seen 7 moose, half of them being male with huge antlers. Pretty sure I have never hiked so fast up the hill. Didn't help when we saw a badger earlier that morning, too. Lets just say I'm a worry wart when it comes to wild animals.
We met my sister-in-law, Somre, and her 3 girls at the Kamas Rec Center to go swimming. They had a huge blow up toy for adults to play on, it was the most fun I've had at a kiddie pool in a long time! After swimming, we went to a little diner for lunch in Oakley. Our burgers, fries and shakes were amazing! We ate junk food and relaxed the rest of the night at the cabin.
{ps... it won't let me rotate the video. It was actually harder than it looks, plus I have absolutely no upper body strength ;)
Sunday: We got up bright and early and went to Sacrament meeting in Oakley. After church, we each made our own little pizzas for lunch. Duke didn't sleep well any of the nights, and it was finally starting to catch up with him. He was super fussy, but wouldn't go down for a nap. We decided to leave around 3 pm so he could sleep in the car on the way home. It was such a fun weekend with my family!
