For the weekend, we decided to go on a short backpacking/camping trip with some of Chad's friends to Wall Lake in Kamas. We got up there a little late so we hiked a mile and a half to our camping spot in the dark. It was fun to get to know Chad's friends, they are so nice!
We had such a great night talking, eating food and enjoying each others company around the fire.
All six of us slept in an 8-man tent (which really means it can ideally fit 4 men). Lets just say....it was quite cozy!
The weather was pretty cold so I brought a mummy sleeping bag. While I was in my sleeping bag, I zipped the opening of the bag shut until it was about the size of a CD so I could stay warm. In the middle of the night, I woke up and I was really claustrophobic. My zipper was broken and so I was stuck in my sleeping bag. Claire Thorley was sleeping next to me and heard me fumbling with my bag. I explained to her that I was stuck and needed her help. She tried the zipper, but had no luck. I was able to squeeze my head out, then ended up falling asleep. We laughed about it in the morning :)
The wives: Melissa, Claire and myself :)
On our way back down the canyon, we stopped at Provo River Falls. I had never been there before, but it was absolutely gorgeous!
We had so much fun! We are planning on going on a few more camping trips before Winter comes. It's a great, cheap and fun getaway.
